The Lone Cypress
This classic panorama California coastal scene of the famous and iconic Lone Cypress Tree shows green bushes in the foreground and the Lone Cypress perched on its rocky outcrop with the Pacific Ocean and coastal mountains of Big Sur in the distance.
'The Lone Cypress'
A California classic landmark, the 'Lone Cypress' is recognized around the world. On the 17 mile drive along the rocky coast of Monterrey, Pebble Beach and Carmel one comes across this unique scene of a cypress tree perched on a rocky outcrop. On this particular trip the trees and bushes happened to be unusually green instead of their normal scraggly brown.
Once I decided it was worth a photo, I set up my 8ft ladder and Fuji617 Panorama camera, composed my image, loaded a roll of film (4 shots per 120) and when waves and things were right, pressed the button.
